The Vaporizer |
Different areas of the world experience different climates. The climate of an area is mainly defined by temperature variation and humidity changes. Since a vaporizer works on the concept of sublimating one type of material into the form of a vapor, temperature and humidity have a large affect on the efficiency and use of a vaporizer. The most important factor is humidity as this is the amount of moisture contained in the air. Various areas must make adjustments for the differing climate conditions.
A vaporizer disperses vapor that is somewhere between a liquid and a gas form in that it contains properties of both. Under very moist climate conditions where the humidity in the air is at a higher percentage a vaporizer will create vapor that is more saturated with dampness than in a dry climate. Once the vapor mixes with the air, the elements of both the air and the vapor combine to create a new form of breathable vapor. This vapor may contain more water than the vaporizer user intends thus causing the effect that the vapor is not as concentrated as one had hoped. This is easily adjusted by adding more of the material being vaporized to the vaporizer to create a higher concentration of vapor containing more of the plant material. This can be likened to adding water to your favorite drink and diluting the solution or vice versa.
In a drier climate, a vaporizer may produce vapor that looses its dampness very quickly and dissipates before it is efficiently used. Once the vapor mixes with the dry air, it can evaporate and simply disappear. This is a particularly important concern if a vaporizer is being used to treat certain breathing problems. The potency of the herbal remedy from the vaporizer is lost, and the benefits of the herbal plant material or other substance is wasted. The best way around losing the vapor from a vaporizer to dry air is to create a room situation with conditions of more moist air. This is easily done by adding moisture to the room by placing containers of water around the room or even bringing water to a boil within the room. The vaporizer itself can add moisture to the room air by running the vaporizer with no substances in it before you attempt to vaporize any materials.
To get the most benefit from your vaporizer, be aware of changing climate conditions in your area. It is a good idea to place a hygrometer in the room where you are planning to use your vaporizer. This will measure the relative humidity in the room and let you know if the air in the room is too saturated with moisture or too dry for your vaporizer to work efficiently. From this, you can make adjustments to enhance your vaporizer experience.
